We are crazy for Minions at our house! How can you not love these adorable little crazy fellas!
We’ve made Glowing Minion Slime, Minion Finger Puppets, DIY Minion Costume you name it! We LOVE them!
With Easter just finishing we had plenty of left over plastic eggs so we put these lovely guys together and you can too…so very easily! We even put a super cute spin on these guys and used LED Tealight candles to make them glow!
To make your own you will need:
Minions
Yellow & blue plastic eggs
Black electric tape
Googley eyes
Black sharpie/permanent marker
Glue – PVA or a glue gun
LED Tealight candles (optional)
‘Evil Minions’
Purple plastic eggs
Black electric tape
Googley eyes
Purple pom poms
Sharpie/permanent marker
Liquid paper pen
Glue – PVA or a glue gun
LED Tealight candles (optional)
Minions
Step 1
Take a yellow plastic egg & a blue plastic egg and split them
Step 2
Piece them back together so that the blue is on the bottom and yellow on top
Step 3
Cut a small length of electric tape and cut that in half then wrap around the top 1/3 of the minion to create the beginnings of his ‘goggles’
Step 4
Stick on your googley eye
Step 5
Draw the Minions facial features on using your permanent marker (note: if you google ‘minion faces’ you will get plenty of ideas on what to draw!)
If you want to go one step further…you can make them glow!
Step 6
Add a battery to your tea light, open your plastic egg and insert it! It’s that easy! So cool!
Now for the…
Evil Minions
Step 1
Take a purple plastic egg then cut a small length of electric tape and cut that in half then wrap around the top 1/3 of the minion to create the beginnings of his ‘goggles’
Step 2
Add your googley eyes
Step 3
Using your black permanent marker, draw the outline of the mouth
Step 4
Colour in the teeth using the liquid paper pen (you may want to go over it again with the black marker)
Step 5
Take your purple pom pom and pull it apart to resemble their crazy hair and glue on
Again, if you want to make them glow, simply add your LED Tealight candle to the centre of your egg!
I am so in love with these little guys..I hope you are too!

These are so cool! We haven’t seen the movie yet but my kids saw the preview (when we saw the movie Home) and they loved the look of Minions. I reckon these would be rigt up their alley.
