Reindeer Christmas Craft – using a shoe box!

My kids LOVE Rudolf the red nosed reindeer so we thought we would make a FUN wall hanging honouring him and his bright red nose. We used an old shoe box and a few simple craft supplies to create this.

Here’s what you’ll need if you would like to create your own –

• Shoe Box
• Scissors
• Box cutter (for adults to use with care)
• Christmas Craft paper
• Double sided sticky tape
• Glue Gun
• Googly eyes
• Brown Paint
• Ribbon and bell
• You might choose to print this template which also has the Rudolf name to cut and glue on.

Instructions – 
Remove the lid from your shoe box, paint it brown and leave it to dry. Cut two reindeer shapes and an oval shape from the remaining cardboard from the box , you may like to use this printable as a rough guide. Paint the reindeer brown and allow to dry.

Using double sided tape cover the oval and inside of your shoe box lid with some Christmas paper. Carefully glue your reindeer to the oval piece of cardboard then add a drop of glue to the inside of the nose to create a 3D reindeer head. Gently bend the antlers to create a better look. Glue the eyes and red nose onto your reindeer and then secure to the inside of your shoe box lid using more double sided tape.

We hung a bell around our reindeer’s neck using some red ribbon and then added his name underneath.

Miss 7 has Rudolf hanging in her bedroom and she is super excited to take him into school for show and tell this week!
