This is a great craft to do using the plastic Easter eggs in the lead-up, or even after Easter!
What you’ll need –
Plastic eggs (from any craft store or $2 shop)
Water Cress seeds
Cotton wool
Sharp scissors
Small amount of water
For decoration –
Pipe cleaners
Googly eyes
Paper or cardboard
Pom poms (for bunny tails)
Glue or glue dots
Marker (to draw extra details)
Start by carefully cutting the top off the Easter egg – this will give you lots of room to make the bunny face. Then shape the pipe cleaners for ears and stick to either inside edge of the egg. Then cut out some bunny teeth out of the card. Get the kids to decorate them and stuff them tightly full of cotton wool. Then dampen the wool down with water and sprinkle the seeds on top. You should have grass hair growing within three days :). We kept ours on the kitchen bench away from direct sunlight – just make sure the wool stays damp. The kids can even eat the grass too!
