This Clay Christmas Tree Craft is so much FUN to do with children! We made them using this Homemade Clay Recipe!
What you’ll need –
- One batch of Homemade Clay or store bought air drying clay.
- Star cookie cutters ranging from small to large (we used a set of 5)
- a drinking straw
- Beads
- String
- scissors
Instructions –
Roll out your clay and make 5 different sized star shapes using the cookie cutters, use the straw to poke a hole in the centre of each star then place on a drying rack in an oven set to 100c Celsius and ‘bake’ for 30mins or until firm. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
Once the stars are cool it’s simply a matter of threading them onto the thread with a bead in-between each star *as pictured below.
We chose to leave ours with the ‘natural’ white clay but you might choose to paint them…or you could dye the clay green? We love how they look hanging on our tree!

Hi Margaret, I purchased these from Spotlight (an Aussie Craft Store). They were part of a Christmas beading set. Louise x
