Our Girls Weekend in Melbourne!

Jenni and I are very fortunate to get the opportunity to travel together for ‘work’. We recently visited Melbourne for a blogging workshop with Warner Bro’s Consumer products, you may have noticed we recently teamed up with them to host this great giveaway.

We were thrilled to spend some time with some other amazing Australian Bloggers and hear more about the exciting upcoming movies and products that will be happening in the next 6 months, most of them are TOP SECRET but we look forward to sharing them with you as soon as they’re released.

Whilst in Melbourne we stayed at [The Blackman] Art Series Hotel and it was AMAZING! Our room was spacious with all the trimmings and their friendly staff were AMAZING! They honestly all deserve staff person of the month for their happy, energetic and welcoming personalities. We would highly recommend this hotel (and we’re not getting paid to say that).

As soon as we knew we were heading to beautiful Melbourne we contacted our good friend (and Melbourne local) Matt Krumins for some ideas on how to fill our spare time whilst staying in the city. We were so pleased to be able to have to opportunity to hang out and learn some new photography tips from Matt as well as experiencing some of Melbourne’s unique beauty.

As soon as we hit the Melbourne Streets we stumbled across an amazing street performer with a HUGE array of ‘instruments’ made from recycled items…in the next 20+ minutes I learnt there was a side of Jenni I had never seen…in all our 8+ years of friendship I never knew she could rock out like this!!  You can watch the street performance here via Facebook.

We decided to put together a list of ideas for a girls trip to Melbourne based on the places we visited and the experiences we shared.

1. Take part in a group photography course with Matt Krumins!
I know we mentioned that we are good friends with Matt but we failed to mention that we first met him through a photography workshop. We were blown away by how much we learnt in his course, he is an excellent teacher and makes learning so much FUN! You and your friends will have a blast discovering Melbourne at the same time as learning how to best capture her beauty and expanding on your photography knowledge.

Find all the information for Matt’s courses here. We enjoyed the Melbourne by Night Course but there is a Zoo one that we would love to do next time we visit.

2. Book a Hot Air Balloon experience over the Melbourne city (or in the Yarra Valley – hello WINE tours!!).
Hot Air Ballooning has been on our ‘travel bucket list’ for a long time now and we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to cross it off in Melbourne. We were AMAZED by the whole experience, the basket is so stable and the stillness was something we weren’t prepared for.

We were blessed with a beautiful sunrise and THE BEST views over Melbourne City and surrounds. We even shared some of the experience LIVE on our Facebook Page, check it out below. You can learn all about this amazing experience and the packages they offer here.

3. Book a Triple Hummer Limo tour of the Yarra Valley!
This is the BEST way out of getting out of being the designated driver. Why not travel in style like a celebrity with all your friends, no need to count drinks, you can even enjoy a few during the picturesque drive.

Learn all about Triple Hummer Limos here. And check out our FUN Facebook LIVE video we filmed here.

4. Enjoy a wonderful meal at Waterfront Restaurant
We were lucky enough to score a table at this amazing restaurant situated in South bank, right in the heart of Melbourne City. Our attentive waiter Albert made sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic (CHILD FREE) meal.

We shared a flavoursome garlic prawn entree before devouring the most succulent steak we’ve ever had. It was seriously good! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Yummmmmy!

5. Take some time to travel by Tram!
Trams are something of a rare sight for us Queensland folk. We loved the experience of riding the FREE trams from our hotel in and around the city. Travelling by tram made for some exciting adventures and lots of FUN!

6. Visit the Melbourne Museum
You will always find something amazing happening at the Melbourne Museum and it’s situated just walking distance from Southbank and the City.  Click here to see what’s on offer throughout the year.

7. Shopping.
Do we even need to give more information about this one? Melbourne is home to some of the best shopping and restaurants around. A great way to spend the day with your friends.

So that’s what we did in Melbourne! We would love to hear about your favourite places to visit in Melbourne?  We’re sure there are a lot of other great places that we didn’t get to see on this trip. We look forward to planning another trip to Melbourne again soon!

Check out more of the Amazing Photos of our visit captured by Matt Krumins here. You can follow him here on Instagram & Facebook.

And here’s a video we collated from our adventures in Melbourne.

We hope you enjoyed the photos, we can’t wait to share more of our travel adventures here on the blog soon!
