We love painting and decorating Terracotta Pots with our kids! Its such an inexpensive activity that encourages creativity whilst also giving us beautiful keepsakes to decorate our home with. This idea came to me when I found some beautiful metallic temporary tattoos at my local discount store…I thought their designs would go perfectly with some beautiful succulents.
Check out the easy video tutorial here.
What you’ll need –
- Temporary Tattoos (you can find some beautiful designs here on Etsy)
- Water and a sponge
- Terracotta Pots (*additional paint if you wish to paint them first)
- Clear spray on varnish
- Plants and soil (we used a variety of succulents)
Instructions –
Simply use the tattoos following the directions on the packet (the same as you would on your own skin). Once they’ve dried and your happy with the finished product simply spray an even coating to seal and protect the designs from water and the outside elements. *We painted one pot using aqua acrylic paint, once the paint was dry we gave it one coat of sealer before applying the tattoos and adding an additional coat of sealer.
We hope you enjoyed this simple and FUN project! You might also enjoy these ideas for decorating pots.
