The farmers are doing it really tough this year and we want them to know that we’ve not forgotten about them and how much we love and support their families. We’ve decided to gather our friends and family to start a toy drive to ensure there are gifts under their Christmas trees this year.
A good friend of mine recently posted this message to Facebook (thanks Creina for allowing me to share!).
What a wonderful way for our children to give back to our Farmers, it must be esspecially difficult with all the bush fires a lot of them have been experiencing too.
My kids and I went shopping and filled two shoeboxed sized boxes with small gifts. My 7 year old son chose toys he would really love and Miss 11 did the same. We’re going to wrap them up and call upon our own friends and family to do the same. Then we’re going to arrange delivery of the toys through the amazing Drought Angels.
We had a lot of fun shopping for the gifts which made me also think of the fun some parents are missing out on too. I purchased a $50 Visa Gift Card to gift to a parent so they can do their own shopping too (or they may need to spend it on more important items). Visa Gift Cards are a great idea because families can use them in their own community to help support their towns. You can cheaply post them directy to Drought Angels PO BOX too –

I would also encourage everyone to buy Australian this Christmas, support your local farmers and maybe even try to find some unique gifts from some farmers.
You can sign up to organise your own toy drive here on their website but time is of the essence as Christmas is fast approaching. It would be best to have all the donations in by the end of November – thats one week away!
We understand you may not be finacially able to donate this year but you can help spread the message by sharing this blog on your social media accounts.
Thank you for your support.
