No Sew Jack and the Beanstalk Costume for Halloween or Bookweek

No Sew Jack & the Beanstalk Costume

This is one of the easiest costumes ever! It’s no sew, reasonably inexpensive and oh so adorable!

I made this for my son’s book week costume, but I’m saving it for Halloween too! This is a great last minute costume that will take you about 20 minutes to make!

To make your own you will need

A large piece of white cardboard (the project kind is the best)

Some ‘Hobby refill’ aka ‘Fibre Filling’ (this is found in all craft/sewing stores)

A piece of bamboo (or a large stick)

Some fake vines & leaves

Glue gun

Stapler

Step 1

Take your white cardboard and lay it flat. Use your Fibre filling and lay it in chunks onto the card – this will give you a good idea on where you would like to glue it

Step 2

Heat up the glue gun & glue your chunks of fibre filling to the card & let it dry.

Step 3

Using your glue gun again, glue all of the vines & fake leaves to your stick – I wrapped the vine around last to give it that ‘beanstalk vibe’

Step 4 (optional)

Dress your child in a flannelette shirt – I’m not sure why, but it seems something Jack would wear!

Step 5

When you are ready to go (i.e. don’t have to sit down), wrap the now ‘cloud’ around your model & staple at the back!

Ta da! A very easy, no sew, quick & easy costume!
