We were lucky to be invited to attend the Sydney premiere of the new children’s movie ‘Inside Out’…we flew with our our two eldest children (boy and girl both aged 6) to beautiful Sydney to check out the highly anticipated movie…we were also pretty excited by the prospect of meeting one of the main stars from this movie Amy Poehler!
A little about the movie –
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters.

So what did we (the adults) think of the film?
We absolutely LOVED it! We were blown away by the amazing messages it passed on. We felt they made a fantastic entertaining movie that will inspire parents and children alike. This is 100% about why we started our own website – to create fun and lasting memories with your children and THAT was the main message we walked away with. We also think it make some parents stop and think about making those real connections with their children, it certainly opened communication channels with our won children about their emotions and how important it is to keep those communication channels open.
What did our kids think?
They also LOVED it! They really connected and understood each emotion and they loved the bright and FUN characters, worlds and storyline that were created inside this movie. Joy would have to be their favourite character but interestingly enough sadness was also a hit with them.
What ages would this move suit?
We personally think children aged 4 and up would enjoy this movie. We feel that some of the topics may go over a few of the younger heads however they will still love to watch the fun and bright characters.
We would love to send ALL of our Fun Mums to see this film with their children, unfortunately we weren’t able to make that happen BUT we are able to GIVEAWAY 1 x Family movie pass for THREE of our lucky readers!
