Splat Ball Painting!
We adore our homemade Splat Balls! Such a cheap, fun and easy craft/toy.
I’m always trying to think up new methods and materials for the kids to paint with – I knew these ‘Splat Balls’ would work great as a messy afternoon paint/play activity & couldn’t wait to test it out.
I stopped by the local discount store to look for something to hang on our back fence to throw the ‘Splat Balls’ at…I found these cheap Mattress Protectors for just $2.95 – they worked perfectly! Especially because they already had elastic attached to the corners which made it so much easier to tie up on the fence ;). They also absorbed some of the paint instead of it running all over the artwork (I can see we will use these sheets again in the future for sure). If you can’t find these sheets an old sheet or plain paper pegged up would work great too.
We had the balls leftover from our last water fight so all I needed was some bowls filled with runny paint – I achieved this by mixing 50/50 poster paint and water.
Ready, set, SPLAT!
All the kids LOVED this activity! And Jenni and I enjoyed watching them even more :).
