Frozen Choc Banana Pops – Favourite Summer Treat!

Choc Banana Pops - an easy & FUN treat for the kids!

These Frozen Choc Bananas are such a yummy treat to make with the kids or for the kids to make themselves!! I remember making them with my brother when we were kids too.

I know this chocolate syrup is not the healthiest option, we did always use the ‘real’ thing BUT this is SO much easier & faster than melting real chocolate with the kids.

  • Fresh Bananas
  • Freezer Bag
  • A Freezer will be handy too ;).
  • ‘Magic’ Chocolate Syrup – the kind that sets hard.
  • Popsicle sticks – we used some plastic ones from a kit but wooden popsicle sticks would work just as well.


Simply skewer the banana on a stick, place inside a freezer bag and freeze (we usually use the half of the banana that doesn’t get consumed at Breakfast time…They don’t take long to freeze at all!

Once they’re frozen you can get the kids to dribble some ‘Magic’ topping over them. My kids just love watching it set hard before their eyes!

  2. Homemade Chocolate Magic Shell

    1 cup chocolate chips (whichever variety you prefer)

    2 tbsp. coconut oil (or can substitute butter or shortening)

    In a small-medium, microwave safe, bowl combine chocolate chip and coconut oil.

    Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave in 15 second increments, removing and stirring between each, until smooth. Let cool to room temperature.

    Serve (it should become solid when it is put on something cold, if it is taking a bit to harden up, pop the ice cream or popsicle, etc. in the refrigerator for a minute.) or cover and store at room temperature for up to a month (if it solidifies-because the temperature in your home may be too cool-just microwave and stir again until melted, and make sure to let come back to room temperature before using.) Makes 1 cup
