Our Review of the Dyson V8 Absolute Cord-Free Vacuum

This post is sponsored by Dyson.

Louise and I have been HUGE fans of Dyson for years! We both use their upright, barrel and of course their stick vacuums. As Mums, we like to think our houses are clean all the time…but let’s face it, with kids around, that’s just not going to happen. The minute they walk through the door they bring millions of tiny friends – dirt, mud, sand, glitter, dog hair, you name it!

As Mums, we also realise that getting the ‘big vacuum’ out for a quick clean is not always convenient, this is where the Dyson V8 Cord-Free Vacuum comes in! Just grab it off the docking station and you can have a pile of sand, toast crumbs or a ‘craft accident’ sorted in seconds.

This clever vac comes with so many convenience attachments which are easily stored on the docking station. It also comes with two cleaning heads – one for hard floors (it even gets rid of large debris – perfect in a ‘snacciddent’ situation AND it picks up teeny dust particles at the same time). Then there’s the ‘Direct drive cleaner head’ that is perfect for carpet – it even targets ground in dirt). There’s a ‘soft dusting brush’ to help sort the tops of cabinets and even your computer keyboard – which is great for us!

Do know what else is amazing about this cord free vacuum cleaner? It uses what is called ‘Hepa Filtration’ which means as it vacuums it captures allergens and expels cleaner air than the air you breathe! Isn’t that fantastic!

The Dyson V8 has the most powerful suction of ANY cordless stick vacuum and delivers 40 minutes of fade-free suction.

Check us out on Facebook LIVE showing you how to use the Dyson in action!

We’re going LIVE on Facebook this morning (Australian EST) at 10.00am to give you a demonstration of us using the new Dyson Va Cord-Free Vacuum, please come along and say hi!

Dyson digital motor V8

The Dyson digital motor V8 runs at 425W, compared to the previous generation V6 motor’s 350W. The motor spins at up to 110,000rpm, and has upgraded drive electronics and software. Powered by new fade-free nickel-cobalt-aluminium batteries, the Dyson digital motor V8 delivers more power over a longer runtime.

Always ready for action

Dyson V8 vacuums have no cord. So there’s nothing to unravel, plug in, drag around and restrict your reach. Equipped with a docking and charging station, you can grab and clean whenever you need to.

Whole machine filtration

Capture 99.97% of allergens and bacteria as small as 0.3 microns. Expels air cleaner than the air you breather.

Cleans carpets and hard floors

Powerful suction generated by the Dyson digital motor V8 is paired with Dyson cleaner head technology. A direct-drive cleaner head removes ground-in dirt and pet hair from carpets, while a soft roller cleaner head removes large debris and fine dust from hard floors simultaneously.

Ergonomically engineered. Weighs just 2.6kg

Inside Dyson cord-free vacuums, key components like the motor and battery are positioned near the hand. This shifts the centre of gravity, making the cleaning end of the vacuum much lighter, so it’s easy to clean up top and down below.

Hygienic dirt ejector
Dyson V8 cord-free vacuums feature a new bin emptying mechanism. As the bin is emptied, a rubber collar slides down the shroud, scraping dirt off. This enables the user to hygienically drive out trapped dust and debris in a single action, with no need to touch the dirt. Additionally, the bin has higher capacity than previous generation machines.
Battery runtime
Battery runtime is now up to 40 minutes, compared to 20 minutes on previous generation machines. Fade-free nickel-cobalt-aluminium batteries ensure suction starts strong and stays strong. A new battery runtime indicator gives the user a visual indication of cleaning time remaining.
Acoustic engineering
Dyson engineers have developed significant acoustic improvements to Dyson V8 cord-free vacuums: they generate 50% less noise compared to previous generation machines, without any compromise on suction power. The air flow paths through the machine have been reworked, to reduce the noise associated with air moving fast through tight spaces. The post- motor filter has been redesigned, so it helps to muffle sound. And acoustic felt and closed cell foam inside the machine absorbs vibrations, also reducing noise.
Max mode
Max mode offers higher suction for more difficult tasks, and is activated with a more intuitive new switch. It provides 115AW of suction, compared to100AW on previous generation machines.
RRP: Absolute $849
