Fairy Bread Cookies

easy-fairy-bread-cookies

We’ve been loving the school holidays, we’ve been spending our days hiking, swimming, beaching and doing lots and lots of other fun things. We’ve also been enjoying spending time baking and these Fairy Bread Cookies really hit the spot after a morning of hiking and swimming. They are certainly not an ‘everyday’ food but we think they are so much FUN for kids to make and enjoy (in moderation) after an active morning.

Here’s the recipe, plus a fun video we made of my two kids baking them.

Ingredients –

  • 125g softened butter
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cup of SR Flour
  • Sprinkles

Method
Pre-heat oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
Beat the butter, sugar and egg until pale and creamy, stir in the sifted flour and then roll the mixture into tablespoon sized balls (we used our hands because that’s FUN). Dip one side of the balls into the sprinkles, space them out on a lined baking tray with room to spread.  Bake for 15mins and allow to cool on the tray.

These would be a great addition to any party and are so easy for kids to bake at home with a little supervision.

We have plenty of other fun ideas for you in our Cooking with Kids section!
