There are so many ways to create keepsakes for your children to treasure. We love photography so we wanted to show you some fun, creative and gorgeous photography keepsakes for your kids.
- Take a photo of your daughter in your wedding dress.
This is a great gift idea to give your daughter on her special day! I took my daughter back to the same place where I got my wedding photos taken and replicated this photo. I just love her beautiful smiling face (and also how skinny I was lol!)
It’s a great idea to take a photo from a height to get the full effect of the dress. It looks like she is lost in the dress. I just love this pic! I took it using my Olympus OMD with the Portrait Lens (my absolute favourite lens of all time). Even an amateur like me can take a stunning photo like this.
2. Make or buy this gorgeous Baby Milestone Blanket
We wrote an entire blog about this gorgeous blanket. It has gone viral on the internet – because – adorable!
You can head to that blog here. This blanket is such a special way to create and document the early years of your child’s life. ..it’s a great prompt to get out every month too. I wish these were around when I was a kid, I would have loved to see the photos now. This blanket is the epitome of a keepsake if you ask me.
3. Take a photo of your son and your husband shaving in the mirror
There’s nothing cuter than a father teaching his son to shave…especially when they are little. My husband has been doing this with my son ever since he could walk and it melts my heart every time. This photo hangs proudly in our bathroom and I adore looking at it. I’m sure my son would love to have a copy of it when he moves out to put in his bathroom (I hope).
4. Create a Beach Keepsake Jar
This is the perfect way to capture the memories of Summer and the beach. This is a great keepsake for your child to have in their room to look back on fond memories. Head here for all the details on how to make your own.
5. First day of Kindergarten/School Chalk Background Photo
We love the use of chalk in photography. It adds such a fun element to any photo. There are so many fun ways to capture those precious ‘First Day’ photos, but this way is our absolute favourite. Ask your child what they want to be when they grow up each year and document it in chalk. It’s great for the kids to keep and look back on. Wouldn’t it be great if he became an astronaut.
We hope you got some fantastic ideas on ways to create Photo Keepsakes for your kids! Let us know if you’ve made a photography keepsake for your kiddy and tell us what it is. We’re always looking for new ideas!
