There are HUNDREDS of Pasta Carbonara Recipes around. Most restaurants have this classic on their menu and for very good reason…IT’S DELICIOUS!
So how do you replicate a delicious dish at home that is delicious, easy, inexpensive and is almost impossible to fail at? I will show you…
INGREDIENTS (feeds 4)
4 egg yolks
2 cups pouring cream
2/3 cup finely grated parmesan cheese (extra to serve)
250g diced bacon
2 cloves of garlic minced
3 shallots finely chopped
Sea salt & cracked pepper
Cook the fettuccine in a large saucepan according to the packet instructions
In a fry pan fry the bacon until crisp
Add the garlic and shallots for two minutes
Drain the pasta and return to the pan over low heat
Add the egg yolks, cream parmesan, salt & pepper & stir until combined
Add the pasta to the bacon, shallots & garlic to the pasta & pour over the pasta – mix until well combined
Serve in large bowls with garlic bread & sprinkle with extra parmesan if desired
