We love having some Halloween themed FUN at our house in the lead up to Halloween. This is a simple idea using some disposable kitchen gloves to make some Spooky Frozen Hands – a huge hit with Miss 5!
What you’ll need –
- Some large plastic tubs & empty cups or utensils ( we used these fun Halloween Cups we made)
- Disposable clear plastic gloves (we bought ours from the local supermarket *pictured below)
- Halloween themed objects like plastic spiders & Googly Eyes
- Some Hydrated Water Beads (if you don’t have these regular water would work well too)
- Food dye
- Water & a freezer
Start by filling some empty gloves with your Halloween objects, add some food colouring, fill with water and tie a knot before placing them on a tray in the freezer to freeze.
Once frozen you can place them in the tub filled with the Water Beads or some coloured water.
My 5yo daughter loved using the frozen hands to try and scoop the slimy beads and spiders from the tub. She also enjoyed smashing them open at the end to free the toy spiders from their icy tomb.
***Please note – you need to be very cautious that children or animals don’t swallow the Water Beads. Definitely a supervised activity – lots of fun for parents to be involved in.
