My lovely sister (who is a Kindergarten Educator) came up with this idea whilst I was staying with her this week. I wanted to make Easter Cookies for Master L’s kindy friends & she said “Why bake, when you have pre-made cookies to decorate”. I agreed whole heartedly! The FUN isn’t in the baking it’s in the decorating! So we got to business!
What you will need for 44 cookies (I’m doing 2 cookies for each child)
2 packets of Milk Arrowroots (or any sweet biscuit – preferably in an oval shape)
2 eggs (whites only)
Icing sugar – 250 g
Food colouring
Sour Rainbow Strips
Smarties
Sprinkles (optional)
Small Easter Eggs (optional)
Easter gift bags (I bought mine from my local $2 store, but you can use cellophane & ribbon!)
Method
Start by whisking the egg whites until small peaks form
Then add the icing sugar – 1 tbs at a time until thick (enough to spread easily)
Divide the white mixture into separate bowls & add your choice of colouring into each.
Now for the fun part…
Spread the biscuits with the icing
Then add the ‘Sour Rainbow Strips’ to the middles, then decorate with the smarties.
You can also decorate with sprinkles, M&M’s or whatever takes your fancy!
We then added 2 cookies to each Easter treat bag with a few Easter Eggs & tied with a cute little card!
Easy to do & a great little gift for Master L’s kindy friends. Egg-cellent!
